Global Position
What if the world had a balance sheet?
A corporate balance sheet provides a structured view of assets, liabilities and financial obligations. What could we learn by applying the same perspective to the global economy?
The Idea Behind the Project
What if we looked at the world as if it were a single corporation?

By examining global assets and financial instruments through the logic of a balance sheet, we can build a broader picture of the world's financial position and explore how its components interact.

The Global Financial Position project applies this perspective to the global economy, bringing together data from established international sources to support a more structured understanding of global financial trends.
Building the Global Economic
Balance Sheet
The project began with the first Global Economic Balance Sheet for December 2019. It was subsequently updated to reflect the global financial position at the beginning of 2025, based on 2024 data.

The analysis draws on information from reliable sources, including central banks, the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and McKinsey.

From Global Data to Better Decisions
The objective of this initiative is to make complex global financial information easier to explore and interpret.

By identifying key figures, growth rates and emerging trends, the project aims to contribute to a better understanding of the global economy and support informed planning and investment decisions.
